NOVI, MICHIGAN – The Wildcats dropped a tough one to Detroit Catholic Central Thursday, falling 1-3 to slip to 9-7 on the season.
After taking the first set 25-22, the Cats let a 20-11 lead in the third set slip away, losing 23-25, and weren’t able to recover from the momentum swing the rest of the match.
Xavi Hale was the offensive standout with 17 kills on a .479 efficiency. Nolan Smith and Drew Longardner each added 10 kills, with Nolan and Cooper Smith contributing 8 and 6 blocks respectively. Anthony Pedro led the defense with 15 digs.
Despite the loss, The Wildcats set (4) school records for a 4 set match – Cooper Smith with 38 assists, Nolan Smith with 8 blocks, 46 team kills, and 42 team assists.
The Wildcats return home Monday, April 27th to host Perrysburg.
