Five Set Thriller on Friday Night

AMHERST: Northview dropped a five-set thriller to Amherst Steele on Friday, falling to 9-9.
After taking set one, service pressure from Steele led to dropping sets two and three. The Cats rebounded in the fourth but uncharacteristic errors in the fifth sealed the loss.
Despite the result, the offense set four school records: Cooper Smith's 48 assists, 50 team assists, 52 team kills, and a .236 team hitting efficiency — all in a five-set match. Xavi Hale led with 20 kills hitting .250 and a 2.2 pass rating. Longardner and Smith each recorded double-doubles, and Anthony Pedro led defense with 18 digs.
Northview heads to Adrian on Monday for a rematch of an early season loss.
