Wildcats Host Quad Match at Home on Saturday, Finish 1-2

SYLVANIA - The Wildcats hosted Amherst Steele, Avon, and Walled Lake Western in a quad match on Saturday, April 11th and Northview finished the day 1-2. Below are the recaps from each match.
The Wildcats dropped their first match of Saturday's quad, falling to Amherst Steele 2-1 to move to 2-4 on the season. The Wildcats held an 11-9 lead in the third set but a run of errors on offense proved costly down the stretch.
Nolan Smith led the team with 9 kills, while Anthony Pedro anchored the back row with a team-high 13 digs. The team combined to tie a school record of 7 blocks in a 3 set match.
The Wildcats dropped their second straight match of the quad to Avon, falling 0-2 to slip to 2-5 on the season.
The loss was a tough one — the Wildcats held a commanding 22-15 lead in the second set before a stretch of untimely errors allowed Avon to climb back and take the set in extra points, 26-24.
The Wildcats closed out Saturday's quad match on a high note, sweeping Walled Lake Western 2-0 to move to 3-5 on the season.
Anthony Pedro led the team with 5 aces, while Nolan Smith and Drew Longardner paced the offense with 8 kills each.
The Wildcats are back in action on April 13th at Perrysburg.
